Graduate Research Assistant, Texas A&M University
My time at Universitas Hasanuddin was a turning point that deeply shaped my academic and professional journey. Graduating from the Faculty of Agriculture with a Bachelor’s in Agronomy, I discovered a strong passion for research and a dedication to improving agriculture for the betterment of society. Universitas Hasanuddin encourages students to be creative and solve problems in a supportive environment. The university provided an engaging learning environment supported by outstanding professors with different expertise. Hence, during my academic journey, I delved beyond textbooks by actively participating in research, contributing as a lab assistant, publishing papers, and leading teams in research competitions. Outside academics, Universitas Hasanuddin also encouraged me to participate in community engagement. For example, I was a volunteer for educational projects by Akademi Mawapres UNHAS, reflecting the university’s commitment to making a real societal impact. The research experience and mentorship I received from Universitas Hasanuddin led me to receive the Fulbright scholarship. Currently, I am pursuing a Master’s in Molecular and Environmental Plant Science at Texas A&M University focusing on gene editing
